Advocacy Training for Health Professionals and Students

Please join us for the first-ever citywide advocacy training for health professions students and health professionals at Thomas Jefferson University, sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Philadelphia Chapter of Partners in Health Engage.

The event will feature individual training sessions on how to speak with elected officials, an information session on direct actions (e.g. marches, protests), how to write policy briefs for decision-makers, and how to write effective letters to the editor and Op-Eds.

The training is open to all health professionals and health professions students in the Philadelphia area. This includes dental students, pharmacy students, nursing students, medical students, physical and occupational therapy students, and public health students. We are seeking multidisciplinary participation in the training sessions, and we highly encourage students to attend.

Lunch will be served at noon before the trainings begin, and will include vegetarian options. There will also be a tabling session so attendees can identify local non-profits and student groups to partner with in the future.
