Valerie and I have recently taken on community coordinator positions for Partner's In Health this year, working in Fort Collins (with an awesome team of people!) to advocate, educate, and fundraise for the right to human health! PIH works to provide a preferential health option for the poor by establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in areas of poverty (see more: http://www.pih.org/), and we are standing by them and their health and social justice approach!
Right now, PIH is leading a coalition to combat the Ebola outbreak, working alongside two outstanding grassroots organizations—Last Mile Health in Liberia and Wellbody Alliance in Sierra Leone.
There are 100 chapters of "PIH Engage" across the country, and Val and I, along with all other community coordinators, have pledged to rally our teams and each raise $2,500 by Oct 25. If all 100 chapters follow through with their pledge, we will have raised $250,000 towards the world's worst Ebola outbreak ever - one of the worst epidemics of our time!
Please help us reach this goal. If we have only 10 people at this event, who each find 10 people to donate $25, we will have reached our goal. We can do this!!!
All of you who have wanted to do something to help the Ebola outbreak - this is your chance! Join us in this important (and fun!) event. Please bring anyone else who wants to join (just please note it on your RSVP so I can have enough pizza). And even if you can only donate an hour of time, please come - all time is appreciated!
Pizza will be provided (+ a GF pie for those who can't do the gluten!) and Halloween goodie bags just because it's fun. Please contact me if you are dairy-free or vegan so I can make sure you will be able to eat :). $10 Target gift card for the person who can get the most donations!!
See you on the 20th!
