Ebola Teach-in and Phone-a-thon
This year, we (Steph and Kelly) are serving as community organizers for Partners in Health, a global health organization that works to provide a preferential health option for the poor by establishing long-term relationships with sister organizations based in poverty (see more: http://www.pih.org/)
Right now, PIH is leading a coalition to combat the Ebola outbreak, working alongside two outstanding grassroots organizations—Last Mile Health in Liberia and Wellbody Alliance in Sierra Leone.
As community organizers, we are called - along with our 100 other chapters across the nation - to support PIH. We have been asked to raise $250,000 by Oct 25- or roughly $2500 a team.
Here's where you come in! We need your help, if but for an hour, to join us in a Phone-a-Thon in order and ask 1...5...10 friends and family members for donations. 92% of donations go directly to patient care, and every dollar is matched by an anonymous donor!
We will start the night with a mini "teach-in" about Ebola, Partners in Health, our team's mission, and why your help and funds are so desperately needed.
We will provide food, drinks, and somewhat comical jokes when we aren't busy FUNDRAISING! Please consider helping (not only for the free food)!
Feel free to message Kelly (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Steph (email@example.com) with questions.
