The 2015-2016 campaign year was one of great progress for growing the movement for the Right to Health. Members from all around our network wrote Letters to the Editor and Op Eds that were published in their local papers! See below:

Campaign Topics

This year, we had been working on an advocacy campaign to support major global health funding programs the Presidents Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria (The Global Fund or GFATM).

See below media hits from members all over the network:

Letters to the Editor:

  • HIV/AIDS Cases - Susan Salari (Ohio State University Team)
    • The Columbus Dispatch - October 10, 2015

Opposite the Editorial (Op Eds):

  • Going the distance - Emily Shea (Williams College Team)
    • The Williams Record - November 18, 2015

Other Topics

Since we believe in the right to health, many other topics come up along the way and the PIH Engage network takes time to put out perspectives at a local level on these issues as well.

See below LTEs, Op Eds, and other pieces written by PIH Engage Members on topics outside of PEPFAR or the Global Fund:

  • Preventable deaths - Emily Kujawa, MPH, RD - (Asheville, NC Team)
    • Blue Ridge Now - November 7, 2015
